Preparation For Permanent Makeup — Pre Care

READ THIS CAREFULLY

Pre-care is important to get the skin at optimal condition for color deposit, keep you comfortable during the procedure, and reduce potential swelling and bruising after your appointment.

General for ALL procedures:

Free of accutane for 6 months (if you are using accutane you need to wait at least 6 months until the day you stopped the med).

Must be OFF antibiotics 2 weeks prior and post procedure (4 weeks total). Antibiotics will significantly lighten or reject the pigment.

Avoid any sun exposure for at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

Discontinue Retin-A, Retinol, Chemical and Laser Peels, facial cleaning, microdermabrasion, and Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) for at least 3 weeks prior (and avoid on eyebrow area after procedure to prevent premature fading).

No Botox or fillers in the procedure area less than 3 weeks prior.

Do not drink alcohol 24-48 hours before your appointment.

Do not consume coffee or any caffeine before your procedure.

Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, fish oil or Advil/Ibuprofen 48 hours before the procedure.

- Eyebrows

Avoid removing any eyebrow hair for at least 3 days before the procedure.

No Botox injections in the procedure area less than 2 weeks prior.

- Lips

Conduct a sugar scrub on the lips the night before the procedure.

Apply Vaseline or Aquaphor daily for a week leading up to the procedure.

To prevent cold sores, consider taking Valtrex 500 mg twice daily starting two days before the treatment for a total 5 days.

- Lash line enhancement

Please discontinue the use of any lash serums at least 2 weeks before the procedure.

Lash extensions must be removed at least one week before your appointment. You will have a follow up appointment 4-7 weeks after the initial appointment so it is better to plan to go without lash extensions for 2.5 months total.

Do not come to your appointment wearing contact lenses. If you need glasses to drive home bring them to the appointment.


After Care Instructions

For the first 24 hours, gently wipe the PMU area with a well-squeezed wet cotton pad every 2-3 hours.

Gently wash the area each morning and night with water and gentle soap or an unscented cleanser like Dial Soap, Cetaphil, or baby shampoo. With a very light touch, use your fingertips to gently cleanse the area.

Keep the treated area clean and dry.

After 24 hours, apply a thin layer of Ointment or Vaseline to the Lips or if you feel dryness apply Ointment between the Eyelashes 1-2 times a day using a clean Q-tip, until fully healed.

Start applying Vaseline or Ointment on the Eyebrows on the fourth day post-procedure, continuing until the area is fully healed.

General Guidelines:

Always wash your hands before touching the treated area.

Avoid saunas, baths, gyms, and swimming pools, tanning in the sun and in a solarium for at least 7-10 days following the procedure.

DO NOT rub, pick, or scratch the treated area.

Avoid topical make-up in the treated area until the scabs completely fall off.

Do not expose the treated area to direct sunlight. After healed (30 days), use a sunscreen to avoid fading from the sun.

Schedule a touch-up appointment for 5-8 weeks after the initial procedure.

Do not do eyelash extensions and do not laminate eyelashes for 1 month (concerns permanent makeup between eyelashes or eyelids).

No facials, botox, chemical treatments, or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks
